Summer Internship at Brasfield & Gorrie, LLC
Atlanta, GA | May 2024 - August 2024
During my internship, I had the opportunity to gain hands-on marketing experience in the construction industry, working closely with my supervisors. I supported various project teams, gaining insight into project management processes and the importance of effective communication in a large-scale construction environment. I was consistently exposed to environments where confidential projects were being handled, allowing me to better understand the scope of operations within a multi-billion dollar firm. This experience also strengthened my teamwork and problem-solving skills, which were essential in collaborating with professionals across different departments. Using the company standard label template in Adobe InDesign, I took the liberty to name our heavy duty paper cutter "Darlene", which gave the office a little bit of life and was a highlight of my summer.
Throughout the internship, I was entrusted with multiple creative design tasks and projects, the largest being a pickleball tournament bracket and trophy. I also created custom timelines and organizational charts that were used in several different presentations to high-profile project owners.
Tennis Coach and Mentor
Atlanta, GA and Delray Beach, FL | May 2023 - August 2023
During my summer coaching at Windy Hill Athletic Club, I focused on creating a member-centric culture, placing member satisfaction as a top priority. I worked closely with new members, actively tailoring lessons to meet their unique needs and expectations. This personalized approach not only improved their tennis skills but also fostered a genuine interest in the game. I consistently delivered exceptional customer service, making sure each individual felt valued and supported.
I also interacted with a diverse range of members, ensuring that every individual felt respected and included. I completed training in diversity, equity, and inclusion, which helped me better understand the importance of fostering an inclusive environment. I embraced the use of HubSpot software to track new member activity, gaining proficiency in its features to help monitor engagement and growth within the tennis community.
Additionally, I spent the other half of the summer mentoring a young female player in Florida, taking full responsibility for her training and well-being. As her mentor, I was committed to her personal and athletic development, providing constant support both on and off the court. This experience helped me further develop my leadership skills and reinforced the importance of being a positive role model. Through this process, I learned valuable lessons in responsibility and feel even more equipped to care for others by offering consistent guidance, support, and encouragement.
Tennis Coach at the Cartersville Country Club
Cartersville, GA | May 2022 - August 2022
During my time as a tennis coach, I partnered with the Director of Tennis to develop and lead a dynamic and engaging tennis program. My goal was to foster a welcoming environment that encouraged participation at all levels, from beginners to more advanced athletes.
I took the initiative to leverage social media platforms to promote the program, helping to build its recognition and popularity throughout the Cartersville area. This effort led to a 20% increase in summer camp registrations, highlighting the success of our outreach and marketing strategies. I also played a key role in expanding the community’s interest in tennis by connecting with local families and young athletes.

Growing up playing competitive tennis, I always wondered what it would be like to be a tournament director. I finally got to find out when I became the Tournament Director for the "CCC End of Summer Tournament," in which I created, organized, and executed over the period of a month. This involved managing all aspects of logistics, including marketing materials, personalized emails to participants and their families, and securing sponsors. The well-received event attracted 22 local junior players, providing a competitive and enjoyable experience that highlighted the growth and enthusiasm of our tennis program.
